Thousands of honey bees will be busy all summer gathering nectar from neighbouring flowers! At the end of the season, we’ll be able to harvest our honey made at the Port of Montreal. 🍯

Urban beekeeping makes it possible to raise awareness of the vital role bees play in agriculture and food production. The populations of bees, butterflies, bumblebees and other pollinators are in serious decline all over the world. Bees are responsible for pollinating more than 130 fruit and vegetable crops worldwide. That’s a third of our food.

We are proud to carry out this project in collaboration with Alvéole, a social enterprise founded in 2013. Since it started, Alvéole has installed hives in hundreds of businesses and schools, providing an opportunity for city dwellers to change their outlook on the urban environment.
